Kompetensi Profesi
Sesuai dengan jalur pengembangan karir profesional perawat di Indonesia, menurut Asosiasi Institusi Pendidikan Ners Indonesia (AIPNI) dan Persatuan Perawat Nasional Indonesia (PPNI) ,program S2 Keperawatan yang akan diselenggarakan di Fakultas Keperawatan bertujuan:
1. Menghasilkan sumber daya manusia magister keperawatan yang beriman dan bertaqwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, berahlak mulia, berbudaya Indonesia, bersemangat ilmiah, mampu mengembangkan kapasitas berfikir kritis dan logis, bersikap peka terhadap permasalahan dan kebutuhan masyarakat akan pelayanan kesehatan, bertindak etis rasional, bertanggung jawab, berkemampuan akademik dan profesional, serta sanggup berkinerja di lingkungan pekerjaannya.

2. Memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam pembangunan kesehatan melalui peran dan fungsi perawat sebagai pengembang ilmu dalam keperawatan (researcher), pemberi asuhan keperawatan (care provider), educator, manager,dan community leader in nursing baik pada tataran nasional maupun global dengan dijiwai oleh tiga karakteristik dasar keperawatan yaitu holism, humanism and care.

3. Menghasilkan sumber daya manusia magister keperawatan yang berkualitas yang mampu bersaing dalam pasaran kerja untuk kepentingan bangsa baik dalam tingkat regional, nasional, dan internasional.

Mengacu pada kompetensi diatas, Kompetensi magister keperawatan yang akan ditumbuhkan di Fakultas Keperawatan Unpad, terdiri dari kompetensi utama, kompetensi pendukung, dan kompetensi gayut. Secara rinci kompetensi magister keperawatan dapat diuraikan sebagai berikut:

Kompetensi Utama
Mampu mengembangkan penelitian sebagai basis peningkatan keilmuan dan teknologi keperawatan Mampu mengembangkan evidence based practice pada area keperawatan baik klinis maupun komunitas
1. Mampu mengelola klien di area keperawatan kritis dan komunitas dengan mempertimbangkan aspek legal – etis serta kebijakan baik di tingkat lokal, nasional dan global.
2. Mampu mengelola pelayanan keperawatan baik ditatanan klinik maupun komunitas dengan mempertimbangkan aspek legal – etis serta kebijakan baik di tingkat lokal, nasional dan global.
3. Mampu mengelola proses pembelajaran keperawatan sesuai dengan area yang diampu baik pada tataran akademik maupun profesi di tatanan klinik maupun komunitas Mampu bertindak sebagai Inovator pada lingkup keperawatan kritis untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan keperawatan kritis.
4. Mampu bertindak sebagai community leader pada lingkup praktik profesionalnya. Kompetensi Pendukung: 5. Mampu berperan aktif dalam pelayanan dan penanggulangan gawat darurat dan bencana
6. Mampu menggunakan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi pada (information communication technology) pada area keperawatan sesuai dengan profil yang diampu
7. Mampu mengembangkan rasa peka budaya (cultural competence) sesuai dengan profil yang diampu Mampu berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Inggris baik lisan maupun tulisan.  

Professional Competence In accordance with the professional career development path for nurses in Indonesia, according to the Association of Indonesian Nurses Education Institutions (AIPNI) and the Indonesian National Nurses Association (PPNI), the Masters in Nursing program which will be held at the Faculty of Nursing aims to:

1. Produce human resources for masters of nursing who believe and are devoted to God Almighty, have noble character, have Indonesian culture, are scientifically passionate, are able to develop the capacity to think critically and logically, are sensitive to problems and community needs for health services, act ethically rationally, responsibly , academically and professionally capable, and able to perform in their work environment.
2. Make a real contribution to health development through the role and function of nurses as researchers in nursing (researchers), nursing care providers (care providers), educators, managers, and community leaders in nursing both at the national and global levels, inspired by the three basic characteristics of nursing. namely holism, humanism and care.
3. Producing qualified human resources for masters of nursing who are able to compete in the job market for the benefit of the nation at the regional, national and international levels.

Referring to the competencies above, the nursing master’s competencies that will be developed at the Unpad Faculty of Nursing, consist of main competencies, supporting competencies, and gay competencies. In detail, the competence of the master of nursing can be described as follows:

Main Competencies
1. Able to develop research as a basis for improving nursing science and technology
2. Able to develop evidence based practice in both clinical and community nursing areas
3. Able to manage clients in critical and community nursing areas by considering legal – ethical aspects as well as policies at local, national and global levels.
4. Able to manage nursing services in both clinical and community settings by considering legal – ethical aspects and policies at the local, national and global levels.
5. Able to manage the nursing learning process in accordance with the area being taught, both at the academic and professional levels in clinical and community settings
6. Able to act as an innovator in the scope of critical nursing to improve the quality of critical nursing services.
7. Able to act as a community leader in the scope of his professional practice.

Supporting Competencies:
1. Able to play an active role in emergency and disaster services and management
2. Able to use information and communication technology (information communication technology) in the nursing area according to the profile being taught
3. Able to develop a sense of cultural sensitivity (cultural competence) in accordance with the profile being taught
4. Able to communicate in English both oral and written.
